What We Teach

Courses built around real business needs

Each course covers one practical area that comes up regularly in small business operations. You can attend individual modules or the full programme. All courses run in small groups in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra.

Compliance

Certified Electronic Invoicing — AT Portal

Since Portugal's mandatory electronic invoicing requirements came into force, many small business owners have found the AT portal confusing to navigate. This course covers the entire process from start to finish — setting up your account correctly, issuing certified invoices, handling credit notes, understanding the different invoice types, and keeping your records in a way that satisfies the requirements.

We work directly in the AT portal during the session. By the end, you'll have issued a real certified invoice from your own account. We cover common error messages and what they mean, and how to contact AT support if something goes wrong after the course.

Topics covered:

  • AT portal account setup and access
  • Issuing certified invoices step by step
  • Credit notes and corrections
  • Understanding invoice series and numbering
  • Record keeping requirements
  • Common errors and how to resolve them
Online Presence

Google Business Profile — Setup and Maintenance

When someone searches for your type of business in your city, Google Business Profile determines whether your business appears and what information they see. This course covers how to claim and verify your listing, fill in all the relevant information correctly, add photos, respond to reviews, and keep the listing updated over time.

We work on your actual Google Business listing during the session. By the end, your profile will be live and complete. We also cover what to do when Google sends you notifications about your listing and how to handle review management.

Topics covered:

  • Claiming and verifying your listing
  • Completing your business information
  • Adding and managing photos
  • Understanding and responding to reviews
  • Keeping your listing updated
  • Using Google Business on mobile
Online Presence

Basic Online Presence Without an Agency

Many small businesses are paying agencies for services they could manage themselves, or have no online presence at all because setting one up seemed too complicated. This course covers what your business actually needs online, what it doesn't need, and how to create and maintain a simple, functional web presence without ongoing technical support.

We cover the realistic options for a small business — from a simple single-page site to a more complete setup — and help you understand which approach suits your situation. The focus is on tools you can manage yourself after the course.

Topics covered:

  • What your business actually needs online
  • Domain names and hosting explained simply
  • Simple website tools you can manage yourself
  • What to put on your site and what to leave out
  • Basic content updates without technical help
  • Connecting your site to your Google Business listing
File Safety

Cloud Backup — Stop Losing Files

Losing files to a computer failure, accidental deletion or theft is a serious problem for any business. This course covers how to set up automatic cloud backup so that your important files are copied securely and can be recovered if something goes wrong. We cover both Windows and Mac setups and the main backup services available.

By the end of the session, your backup will be running automatically. We also cover how to check that your backup is working, how to retrieve specific files or a full restore, and how to understand what's backed up and what isn't.

Topics covered:

  • Understanding cloud storage and backup
  • Setting up automatic backup on your device
  • Which files to prioritise
  • Checking your backup is working
  • Retrieving files when you need them
  • Backup for mobile devices
Communication

Digital Communication Tools

This course covers the communication tools that have replaced fax and post for day-to-day business. Email set up properly with a professional address, video calls with suppliers and clients, sharing documents without printing and posting them, and understanding which tool to use for which situation.

We also cover the basics of keeping communication records organised digitally — something that becomes important if you ever need to refer back to an agreement or instruction. The course is practical throughout and uses your actual accounts and devices.

Topics covered:

  • Professional email setup and management
  • Video calls — setup and use
  • Sharing documents and files digitally
  • Digital signatures for documents
  • Organising your communications
  • When to use which tool
Full Programme

All five modules together

If you'd like to cover all five areas — invoicing, Google Business, online presence, cloud backup and digital communication — you can attend the full programme over multiple sessions. This is suited to business owners who want a thorough update across all the main digital areas rather than focusing on one specific need.

The full programme is structured so that the modules build on each other where relevant. It can be completed over several weeks to allow time to practise between sessions. Contact us to discuss scheduling in your city.
